Opened in March 1911 in a purpose-built corrugated metal, wooden-framed structure, lending a certain irony to its original name of the Picture Palace.
Re-named the Cine Electric Picture House on the 14th April 1913. Converted into a ballroom known as the Plaza. Popular with local servicemen who named it the Honky Tonk. Demolished around 1970 and replaced with flats.
