Opened in 1878 as Her Majesty's Theatre. Renamed Royal Princess Theatre
in 1879. Originally shared a monumental facade consisting of pillars
topped with statues with the adjacent Palace Theatre.
The Palace - and the frontage - were demolished in the 1970s, and the
modern brick foyer constructed to replace it in 1989. Two balconies
grace the original auditorium.
