Opened in October 1989 as a 9-screen UCI Multiplex. Original seating capacities were:

Screen 1:319 seats, 2:206, 3:219, 4:245, 5:245, 6:219, 7:206, 8:206, 9:219

Taken over by Odeon in October 2004. In October 2017, it was refurbished as the chain's first Luxe cinema, with a large-format iSense screen in Screen 1. Seating capacities were much reduced and are now:

Screen 1:104 seats, 2:52, 3:72, 4:78, 5:82, 6:76, 7:56, 8:56, 9:76

Opened in late 1968, and operated by Caledonian Associated Cinemas (CAC), with Sir Alexander B. King and Forbes M. Irons, Director and General Manager of CAC respectively. Also present at the opening were the Provost John Wright, and Julia Foster, a co-star of the opening feature, Half a Sixpence, although the latter had been delayed by fog!

A second screen with around 83 seats was added in the early 80s. Seems to have closed around 1989 when the UCI multiplex opened in the neighbouring shopping centre. Has been a bingo hall run by Carlton ever since.

Village Theatre

Other names: Picture House

Norrie Mcnamee.

Originally public hall built in 1883. Leased to various members of the Palmer family as a cinema until around 1960.

Converted into a theatre in 1977, with a new fly tower, dressing rooms and public areas built around the structure of the original hall. The first production was Sleeping Beauty in December that year, performed by East Kilbride Rep. Still operated by the local authority with seats for around 300.
