Opened in 1985 as a 10-screen UCI multiplex.

Screen 1-204 seats, 2-204, 3-232,

4-232, 5-388,

Screen 6-388 seats, 7-256, 8-232, 9-204,

10-204.

After the merger of Odeon and UCI in 2005, this was one of the UCI

sites sold off because of competition concerns. It was then re-branded

as an Empire Cinema.

Empire

Opened as a theatre, December 1914. Designed by George Boswell to seat 1,300.

Full-time cinema from 1928. Destroyed by fire, 21.6.59.

Elgin St/Glasgow Road

Opened January 1902 as a theatre, seating 1,400. Sold to AE Pickard for cine-variety in September 1908.

Renovated as a cinema and renamed Bank in August 1917. Sold to SCVT in 1927.

Closed in 1961. Demolished, though part of a gable end may still remain... ?

Opened in 1938, seating 2,648.

Auditorium split between bingo (in stalls) and cinema (in circle) in 1969, and at some point around then the tower was lowered in height.

Cinema area closed in 1984, and was subsequently converted to a snooker club. This was closed in the early 2000s.

Bingo closed in the 2010s and the entire building was demolished in summer 2016. Site is now occupied by flats.
