Opened 1911 by George Urie Scott, on ground originally used a cooperage.
This replaced his earlier Barrhead Picture Playhouse, which had been converted from a roller skating rink.
The Pavilion was rebuilt 1935 by McNair & Elder. The seating capacity had been 1,000 then.
Refurbished and renamed George when it was taken over by the George Palmer circuit from 1969, with seating reduced to 650.
Closed 1977. Subsequently used for a few years as a live theatre venue by the Barrhead Arts Guild.
Later demolished in the mid 1980s.
